Spring Outdoor Activities Your Family Will Love!

As Spring weather rolls in the kids (and mom and dad!) are excited to get out of the house and into nature - nothing could be better! Getting outdoors is a healthy way for your kids to connect to themselves and nature, spending time exploring and discovering their local roots. And Tasty Clean is perfect to go along with you on your adventures for rinsing off your dental appliances, eating utensils, and baby toys when you’re outdoors.

Whether you are cooking on a grill or over a fire pit, keeping your utensils clean, washing up, and exploring outdoors is a little safer when you have Tasty Clean with you!

Put away the cell phones and devices and head out to see the wild flowers in bloom, take a hike around a local lake, have a picnic, or teach your kids how to build a campfire. Activities that connect your kids with nature is a great way to create lasting memories and deep bonds with family members.

Here are a few ideas to put into your calendar this season:

Have a Nature Photography Adventure

The beautiful outdoors is deserving of being captured through the lens of a camera and great for teaching your kids how to observe the details around them. This is easy because you can stay home, do it on a Saturday or Sunday and include lunch with it.

Grab your camera (preferably something other than a smart phone) and head out to a local park.

Teach your kids to notice details on the trees, in clouds, flowers, and the faces of other participants. Experienced photographers can teach them about rule of thirds, contrast, diagonal lines and how to use color and framing. When you’re back home, compare the images and choose the best from each family member. Create a wall or special space to display the images.

Hike your favorite trail

Believe it or not, there are many lakes and trails around the DFW area to enjoy. Cedar Ridge Preserve is an Audubon nature preserve offering 9 miles of hiking trails through 600 acres of hill country habitat. It’s close enough for a day of exploring and nature hiking… don’t forget the binoculars!!

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve is a 200-acre park in Plano, Texas. It has several amenities including 3 miles of paved hiking trail, 3 miles of unpaved hiking trail, a 2.8 mile off-road bike trail, restrooms, a covered pavilion, and a playground. The pavilion can be reserved for special events. This is a top choice for a day trip, just pack a lunch and throw the bikes in the car.

White Rock Lake is classic Dallas at it’s best! Great for a day on the bikes or to explore the lake path and old boat house. Located in north-east Dallas, Texas, White Rock Lake was formed by damming White Rock Creek, which today widens into the lake before continuing south out of the spillway and emptying into the Trinity River. It is one of the most heavily used parks in the Dallas Park system and is the location of many special events and runs.  White Rock Lake offers a variety of active and passive activity options and is one of the best places to experience natural areas and wildlife in an urban setting.

A Camping Trip to East Texas

An east Texas treasure, Caddo Lake State Park is tucked away and surrounded by bald cypress trees draped with Spanish moss. This location is perfect for a paddle adventure with the kids over the weekend. You can stay in a historic cabin or campout, try your luck fishing and hiking, have a picnic, look for a geocache, and go boating.

Alligators live in the park, so be safe and read the alligator safety tips before your visit.

Talk about connecting with nature. This is a great family adventure to add to the list of activities for spring. You can get more information at their website Caddo Lake State Park.

Whatever activity you plan for the family this Spring, take Tasty Clean with you!

Tasty Clean was born out of necessity when a mother and her son found themselves in a situation when the baby’s sucker fell on the ground in a public place. The mom had a lightbulb moment and thought “if only there were a safe and all-natural product that I could simply spray onto the now germ infested sucker so that I could give it back to my (inconsolable) son”. BOOM!  Tasty Clean was born.

Now our products are available in handy travel-size bottles that can easily go with you camping, hiking, paddling, playing or just hanging out at home or the mall.  Visit us and place your order today. Tasty Clean also provides hand sanitizers too, an excellent staple to add to your adventure gear!
